Visit one of Martinique’s historical sites, Habitation Clement . Originally a sugar plantation, this rhum distillery sits on 43 acres of land and grows its own sugarcane. Rhum Clément was first established in 1887 when Martinique political icon Homère Clément bought Domaine de l’Acajou in Le François, Martinique. Homere’s innovative thinking and political influence during the Caribbean sugar crisis resulted in economic success and a unique type of rum from Martinique: Rhum Agricole, distilled from fresh-pressed sugarcane juice.
You get to visit the Maison Créole and the old rum distillery; there you will get the understanding of how this rum is aged to perfection. On site, there is a museum where you can sit and listen to different presentations about this unique rum and a large park for you to discover. Finish off the day in the 2023 state of the art Boutique, where you have the posibility of tasting some of the best Rhum Clement.
Our tours to the rum distillery are mostly groups and are lead with a tour guide. Transportion via bus are minimum 20 persons and maximum 50 persons. Smaller groups should request a guide.
